Marble Pelican for the Quenington Sculpture Show in the Summer
I have had this marble block ( direct from Carrara , Italy ) for 5 years and could never think of an appropriate use for it . Last summer we had a Dalmatian Pelican on the creek in Devoran , Cornwall . Magnificent and majestic and what an inspiration for the marble .
After some months of planning and making these Hampshire Down Sheep , carved in Oak have now been sited at the former Beechdown School site in Basingstoke .

2 New sheep for Baaasingstoke . Hampshire Downs Sheep if you were wondering
After some months work , I have now completed the John Dory , in granite . It will be placed at Torpoint Community College and is a memorial for a very popular teacher , Richard Feast .
It has been fantastic to work with Cornish Granite again and a great honour to be asked to do this commission
If nothing else , I’ve tidied the shed !
Looking forward to the Open Studios Event once again this year . Starts on the 23rd of May until the 31st
I’ve been invited by Torpoint Community School to carve a scuplture in memory of a popular and inspirational teacher , Richard Feast . The photos are of maquettes which I have made in clay . The sculpture will be made from Cornish Granite and will be 5ft tall (1.5m ) The John Dory was his favourite fish . A good choice as it has lots of extravagant fins and makes a good subject for sculpture . It is going to be a bit of a challenge but I’m really looking forward to it .What a smashing thing to be asked to do
